Volunteer Opportunities

AFA is built by its members, and our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Serving on the AFA Board of Directors or one of our committees is your chance to give back to the industry, build valuable skills, and help shape the future of the association.

Why Volunteer?

When you step into a volunteer role, you're not just supporting AFA - you're investing in yourself. Volunteers gain:

How It Works

Each summer, AFA opens a call for volunteers to serve on the Board of Directors and committees.  The call runs through late August, with new terms beginning the following year.  While we aren't currently accepting volunteer forms, you can review the opportunities below and start thinking about where you'd like to contribute.  Be ready to submit your interest when the call opens next summer.

Where You Can Serve

From board positions to committees and task forces, there are opportunities to match every interest and level of experience.  Details about each role can be found below.

Hear from our Volunteers

The biggest opportunity for learning for me has been working with other professionals on association projects and challenges. Being in a room with others and seeing how others approach and find solutions has been very insightful. It has helped me improve my skills when facing challenges in my own business.

AFA Chapter Volunteer

Volunteering with AFA has taught me to work on something greater than my company, and it has helped me to learn to be part of a team, not just the leader all the time. It has helped my company by allowing me to meet so many people in our industry.

AFA Volunteer

AFA has offered me several opportunities to selflessly serve and lead in different capacities. The pressure and excitement of being a part of an organization and leading the charge on boards and committees places you in a spotlight that motivates one to do the job right.
